That’s all well and good if you’re aiming for an uncluttered Home Screen, but it can take longer to find the apps you use every day. So that why we’ll show you how to add apps back to the Home Screen in the guide below.
Option 1. Drag Apps From the App Library to the Home Screen
The quickest way to move apps from the App Library back to your iPhone Home Screen is to drag them.
First, swipe from right to left on your Home Screen to find the App Library. Then, find the app you want to move by searching through the various categories or tapping the search bar at the top of the page.
When you’ve found the app you’re looking for, tap and hold on it for just a second, until you feel a tap or hear a click, then slide your finger to the left of the screen to drag it onto the Home Screen.
You can now drop the app exactly where you want it, or slide back to the right edge of the screen to add it onto a new Home Screen.
Option 2. Tap and Hold to Add Apps to the Home Screen
Dragging an app to the Home Screen requires precise tap-and-hold timing; an easier option is to open the action menu for an app and tap Add to Home Screen.
To start, go to the App Library and find the app you want to move, just as we explained how to do in the above instructions.
When you’ve found the app you want to move, tap and hold on it until a menu appears, then tap Add to Home Screen.
The app will appear in the next free space on your Home Screen, creating a new Home Screen if needed.
Make Sure All New Apps Save to Your Home Screen
If you want to make sure new iPhone apps always appear on your Home Screen, rather than saving straight to the App Library, you need to change an option in the Settings.
Just go to Settings > Home Screen and enable the option to Add to Home Screen.
Keep Your iPhone Home Screen Organized
The App Library, while divisive, introduced new ways to organize the apps on your iPhone Home Screen. You can use it to minimize app clutter, hide particular Home Screens, and effortlessly keep your apps organized.
